Ep. #315 featuring Iron Maiden

Iron MaidenUp the irons! Britain’s legendary metal juggernaut, Iron Maiden, are showing that they refuse to slowly play out their final years. This week we feature their newest album, The Book of Souls. This album is being released 35 years after their first, is their first double album, and features their longest song to date. The band plans to once again take to the air in Ed Force One to truly tour the globe in support of the album, with tour dates expected to start rolling in within a week. You can buy the new album here.

We had two bands making their debut on the program this week. The first, Unified Past, has a new album coming out on September 11th entitled Shifting the Equilibrium, and you can read about the band, hear a medley from the album, and (pre) order the music here. The artist debut is an older one, the music of Andrew Gorczyca. You can pick up Reflections: An Act of Glass, here.

Coheed and Cambria have released the 2nd video from their forthcoming release, The Color Before the Sun called Here to Mars, which can be viewed below. In addition you can check out the recently released track listing and artwork here.

Five bands have recently released albums available for your purchase, and all come highly recommended from me, it’s been a great few weeks! First is Riverside with Love, Fear, and the Time Machine (buy). Next up is The Dear Hunter and Act IV: Rebirth in Reprise (buy). Then there is Ghost with Meliora (buy). Fourth is Amorphis with Under the Red Cloud (buy). Finally there is Soilwork with The Ride Majestic (buy). Don’t be shocked if all five (okay, let’s be honest, 4 of 5!) are featured before the year is out.

Finally, there is news from East coast prog metal outfit Odin’s Court. The band is re-working and re-releasing their 2008 release, Deathanity, and are also working on Turtles All the Way Down II. They have started a crowd funding campaign to cover both endeavors, and you can support that here.
